Character Name: Patricia "Patty" Thompson
Series: Soul Eater (Anime)
Canon Point: Post-Anime
Summary/History: The Wiki is pretty sufficient
Personality: Patty is by all appearances a girl who never mentally aged past about four years old. She is boisterous, loud, overdramatic, and never takes a single situation seriously. She is known to act out in goofy, childish ways, and make light of even the darkest, most upsetting situations. She's actually an incredible source of light and positivity when around her her friends and allies are struggling with difficult roadblocks and emotional issues.
She is absolutely fearless, having nothing but utmost confidence in her older sister, Elizabeth "Liz" Thompson, and her meister, Death the Kid. Even in life-threatening situations she laughs and cheers, expressing her trust that her soul resonance partners will get them through. Her positivity is sometimes the last shine of hope for the trio team. The three of them are a balanced triple partnership that brings out the best in all of them.
To understand Patty, it is necessary to know her interdependence with her sister, Liz. The two of them grew up together in hard times, abandoned by their mother on the streets of New York. They had to learn how to survive in the concrete jungle with nothing but the clothes on their back, and each other. They are incredibly interdependent, never seen apart, and function as halves of a whole. This is almost certainly part of what makes them an attractive set of weapons for the balance-loving Death the Kid. While Liz isn't exactly a role model for maturity, she is absolutely the more serious of the two sisters, and will sometimes show exasperation at Patty's ridiculous ways. It is implied a little that Liz was the caretaker in the relationship once their mother left the picture, looking after her younger sister and finding creative ways to stay alive. The ways that eventually led to "The Thompson Sisters" being an infamous crime pair all on their own.
Patty found her own ways, in that interdependence, of taking care of Liz in return. When times were tough, or Liz started struggling with what they were and what they did, or even just got lonely, Patty was right there to smile and laugh and make it better. Certainly the two of them missed out on important educational years, and much of Patty's immaturity can be explained by their lack of parenting and the emotionally stunted environment the mob-infested streets of Brooklyn would be, but even those things together can't entirely explain Patty's stubborn refusal to act her age. She's motivated by a desire to give back to the sister who kept the two of them alive, and a new desire to make and keep the friends that they have in Kid, and in their peers at the Academy. Patty simply loves being the comic relief, she finds it comfortable and familiar, and she sees no reason to mature out of that, when it has a positive effect as often as it needs to.
Both sisters also have a defining bond with Death the Kid, the grim reaper's son, who discovered their compatibility and symmetry, and took them on as his weapons. He got them off the street and out of the cycle of crime they had lost themselves into, legitimizing the sisters and giving them a comfortable, relatively safe lifestyle they could not have gotten otherwise. Even Patty understand how important that change was for them, in all of her immature silliness. The love and appreciation both sisters have for Kid is apparent in their soul wavelengths and the easy way all three of them resonate. Patty is enthusiastic about everything, but she is especially cheerful about getting to life a normal weapon life at the Academy, and become a reliable and trusted Death Scythe to Death the Kid. She found ambition in partnership with him, and a greater meaning beyond survival, even if that change doesn't always show in her obvious behavior.
Powers/Abilities: -Patty can transform into a pistol that matches her sister, and when in soul resonance with Liz and Kid, can upgrade into half of a double-barreled canon.
-She is also a skilled markswoman and fairly capable as a meister for her sister.
-She also knows karate and can fight hand-to-hand.
